Adeyemo ADETOYE
Assistant Lecturer
college of Computing and Communication STUDIES (COCCS)
Cybersecurity Programme
Cybersecurity lecturer specializing in Denial of Service (DoS) detection and mitigation. With a strong background in computer science and engineering and a passion for securing digital infrastructure, he has made significant contributions to the field through his research and teaching.
Education
- M.Sc. Telecommunication and Information System University of Essex, Colchester, United Kingdom. November, 2013.
- B. Tech Computer Engineering Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho December, 2009.
Research
Primary research area revolves around Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, encompassing detection and mitigation strategies. His work delves into the following key aspects:
DoS Attack Analysis: He conducts in-depth analysis of various types of DoS attacks, including traditional flooding attacks, distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, and more sophisticated, application-layer attacks. His research seeks to understand the evolving tactics employed by attackers.
Detection Techniques: He develops and evaluates novel detection techniques to identify and differentiate between legitimate traffic and malicious traffic during a DoS attack. His research often involves machine learning, anomaly detection, and signature-based methods.
Mitigation Strategies: He also focuses on devising effective mitigation strategies to thwart DoS attacks in real-time. This includes the use of network-level defenses, traffic filtering, and coordination with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for large-scale DDoS attacks.
Resilience and Preparedness: In addition to attack detection and mitigation, he emphasizes the importance of enhancing organizational resilience and preparedness against DoS attacks. His work covers incident response planning, network design, and disaster recovery strategies.
He is dedicated to advancing the field of cybersecurity, particularly in the realm of DoS detection and mitigation.
