Engineer Dr. Peter Onu is a chartered engineer and a digital technology and sustainability (Digital Green Fusion) expert. His research focus is on Smart Manufacturing, Smart Energy, and Smart Agriculture, integrating AI, ML, and DL technologies. He is a proponent of adopting nascent data-driven decision-making technologies like IoT devices, data analytics, and predictive modeling. He aims to promote intelligent systems and sustainable solutions within the industrial and energy sectors.

Research
Dr. Onu researches AI, ML, and DL solutions to facilitate and promote smart protocols and intelligent systems. He explores emerging techniques, including sustainable methods, procedures, and strategies to solve existing and future problems. His research explores digital and green transition with the drive to spur innovation in manufacturing and robotics engineering, computing, and electronics for sustainable and advanced industrial operations. Dr. Onu’s research ethos focuses on exploring nascent material management models and technologies to improve global manufacturing performance. His Ph.D. thesis focused on eliminating complex and non-sustainable manufacturing processes and replacing them with automated, energy-efficient, and reliable mechanisms. This research was conducted within nine ultra-modern manufacturing conglomerates. Dr. Onu’s current research concentrates on deploying cutting-edge technologies through state-of-the-art strategies for industrial growth and promulgating proactive environmental approaches and green technological solutions. His dedication lies in making significant contributions to Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa, aiming to bridge the knowledge gap between sustainable industrial practices and the technological advancements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Consequently, he proactively attends highly renowned international conferences in his research field and publishes in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals outlets. Overall, he has made significant academic contributions, including publishing over 100+ notable articles and two (2) book monographs, with two additional books in the contract signing stage, all to be/indexed in the Scopus database.
