The second year of the administration of Professor Joshua Ogunwole as the Vice-Chancellor of Bowen University began on Thursday, August 1st, 2019, in a unique and historic way. The Vice-Chancellor used the occasion to fulfill one of the core values of the university which is social responsibility, as a special guest to declare open the new palace of the Olupo of Oluponna, the building of which Bowen University contributed immensely.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Emmanuel Oyebamiji Oyeleso, Fadare II, was full of gratitude for the donation of cash and materials towards the successful construction of the new palace by Bowen University. The Kabiyesi expressed his joy and excitement, and offered words of prayer for the Vice-Chancellor and Bowen University.
Members of the VC’s entourage to the new Oluponna’s palace included Mr. Sunday Ilupeju – Acting Registrar, Mr. J. A. Adewoyin – Deputy Bursar, Mrs. Foluke Ayuba –Director of Directorate of Institutional Advancement and Corporate Affairs (DIACA), Hon. Toba Daramola – Special Assistant to the VC and Captain Raymond Tangle (Rtd.) – the University’s Chief Security Officer.
