Empire Hechime Nyekwere is a law teacher and researcher at Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria. He is a PhD Research Candidate in International Environmental Law at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. He has a master degree in law (LL.M) from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Empire has a first degree in law (LL.B) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. In the latter capacity, he teaches Environmental Law, Tort Law, Human Rights Law and Nigerian Legal Method. He has also supervised various research projects that border on the subject matter of environmental law, Tort Law and human Rights Law. He is a member of the Environment and Water Regulation Unit of the African Centre of Excellence for Water and Environmental Research (ACEWATER), Nigeria. He is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Nigerian Association of Law Teachers and the Association of Environmental Lawyers of Nigeria. He is widely published with his publications featuring in various international and national journals. His publications cut across various themes in environmental law including international environmental protection, international environmental governance, environmental protection and management in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria, environmental human rights, sustainable development, etc.
