Dr. Mathew. O. AYOOLA is a Lecturer in the Agriculture programme, Animal Science and Fisheries Management Unit.
He teaches courses related to Animal production, Animal physiology, Animal welfare and behavior, Fish adaptation, and fish physiology. Mathew’s broad research area is in Animal Physiology and ethology.
He is currently coordinating the Student industrial work experience scheme in Agriculture programme, teaching and research farm of the University. and served on several University committees.

Research
His research interest covers application of ethno-veterinary medicine on reproductive and digestive physiology of farm animals, assisted reproductive techniques, studies related to animal behavior, welfare and smart livestock farming systems.
He is currently working on animal behavior in relation to housing management and handling, environmental physiology and welfare implications in assisted reproductive technologies on livestock and aquatic species.

- Evaluation of weaning intervals on physiology, and behavioural adaptation of piglets
- Evaluation of heat stress in broiler chicken using sound vocalization.
- Application of algorithm through sound vocalization to model body weight in broiler chicken
- Application of Carica papaya and Moringa oleifera leaf meal as endocrine disruptor in rabbit.
- Evaluation of oestrus synchronization protocols on timed artificial insemination in Bos indicus and west africa dwarf goats
- Genetic variation in heat stressed adaptation of red sokoto and west africa dwarf goats
He has five (5) postgraduate students who are currently working in his research group.

His passion for applied research and Agribusiness earn him the opportunity to serve as a stakeholder on committee task to review Nigeria Hatchery operations and animal feeds production under a World Bank project (L-MIRA). He has attended several international conferences and published in high impact Journals.
He is a recipient of several grants and awards, which includes : Department of Animal Science; Stellenbosch University Research fund , Bowen University staff development Award, Bowen University research grant, and UFAW travel grant
He is currently serving as reviewers for many local and international journals.
