I have successfully distinguished myself as one of the few young African researchers who have excelled in the core area of Renewable and Sustainable energy generation. My broad research focus is in the areas of Waste Management, Renewable Energy generation and Sustainable Agriculture. I have a special bias for Bioenergy generation from different biomass and wastes as well as Biofertilizer production and utilization for Agricultural Sustainability in Sub-Saharan Africa. I have over the years built strong working collaborations with research groups in some Universities including the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research-UFZ, Germany; The German Biomass Research Center-DBFZ, Germany; All Saints University, St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Universidade Federal de Vicosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil; University of Sao Paolo, Brazil; University of Cadiz, Spain; University of Valladolid, Spain; University of Barcelona, Spain; Cranfield University, United Kingdom; Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam; Malaviya National Institute of Technology, to mention a few. To date, I have published over 100 research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
In 2022, I emerged the first ever Scientist from any Nigerian University to win the Harvard Radcliffe Fellowship which was utilized at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University, Cambridge Massachusetts, United States of America. During my Radcliffe Fellowship year, I reliably addressed the waste management scenario in developing countries by writing a book that focus on the development of a sustainable method of waste collection and processing to synthesize several platform chemicals and fuels via microbial fermentative routes and polymerization where applicable. The book not only contribute to solid waste management but also established waste biorefineries to generate multiple products in developing nations.I have successfully supervised a total of 36 Bachelor and Diploma projects and in addition, have supervised 6 students at the Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and Doctoral levels while currently supervising 6 Doctoral candidates. Administratively, I had the opportunity to head the Department of Environmental Health, at the Ogun State College of Health Technology, Ilese-Ijebu, (Ifo Campus), Ogun State, Nigeria prior to joining Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Nigeria where I served in different capacities and climaxed it as the Director, Vice-Chancellor’s Office for two years. I later moved to Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State Nigeria in 2020 as a Full Research Professor in Microbiology and Biotechnology and served as the Director of Research and Strategic Partnerships.

Research
Most of my research activities focus on the exploitation of African biomass and waste materials for biofuel generation and utilization as a means to augment the epileptic energy supply currently being experienced in parts of Sub-Saharan Africa. I am also out to fully characterize the microorganisms responsible for the bioconversion of these biomass for advanced bioprocessing thereby creating a robust Microbial databank for the region and beyond. My driving force in Environmental management research is the belief that “There is no waste in wastes; the only thing in waste is wealth”. I am a recipient of some local and international awards, fellowships and grants by different funding bodies and have attended a number of international conferences where I presented my research findings. I have also received some recognitions and accolades from globally reputed Scientific Organizations including the American Chemical Society (ACS) for my novel researches. I serve on the editorial board of seven reputable journals while also serving as reviewer for more than 70 high impact journals including those published by Nature, Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis, Wiley online library, American Chemical Society among others.
I am the recipient of a grant on “Food waste Biorefinery for production of platform chemicals with a Circular Economy Approach” by the Foundation of Science and Technology Development (FOSTECT), Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I have also previously received the prestigious INSA JRD-TATA Fellowship in India and the TWAS-DFG Visiting Scientists Fellowship in Germany. In the year 2017, I got a major breakthrough in biogas and biofertilizer generation which was published in “Energy and Fuels” journal belonging to the American Chemical Society. This development afforded me broadcast in National dailies both in Nigeria and other countries including the US and Canada.
