Research
My research have been centred around the various accounting research themes. Major emphasis on the corporate governance research theme and other financial accounting and financial education research.
From my past research, we have been able to advance knowledge in various ways. The research on financial institutions and sustainability showed that financial institutions in Nigeria still had a long way to go as regards sustainability and the CBN could aid their advancement in this regard to be at par with the global economies, especially through the works and trainings of the banks’ board of directors.
The research on accounting professional competence revealed the peaking awareness on the use of technology among professional accountants, especially with the recent disruptions, and the need to further embrace it as it imparts the accounting profession significantly currently and going forward.
The research on CEO duality thematically emphasised the irrelevance of the CEO duality control variable in African corporate governance research and the need to avoid the usage in literature. This was to create and give room for more corporate governance variables that will further impart corporate governance research, as more issues like women in governance, technology in governance, risk governance, (non)existence of the board, and so on, emerge and key findings made.
Going forward, my research intents to contribute more in the aspects of personal finance, corporate governance (board of directors), accounting education in various spheres and other contemporary accounting issues that will truly add value and expand frontiers in academia.
