Research
My research investigated critical aspects of maternal and child health in Nigeria, focusing on three key areas: antenatal care, pattern of utilisation of traditional birth attendants and maternal satisfaction with labour care services among postnatal women.
Antenatal Care:
This entailed examining patterns and determinants of antenatal care utilization among pregnant women in Nigeria.
Identifying barriers and facilitators that influence the accessibility and quality of antenatal services.
Maternal Satisfaction with Labor Care:
This involved assessing the satisfaction levels of mothers with the care received during the labor process.
Exploring the factors contributing to or hindering maternal satisfaction, with the aim of enhancing the overall labor care experience.
Utilization of Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs):
My Bachelor’s degree research project investigated the pattern of utilisation of Traditional Birth Attendants among pregnant women in Nigeria. This included the
exploration of cultural and socioeconomic factors influencing the choice of TBAs and their impact on maternal and child health outcomes.
By delving into these areas, my research contributed valuable insights to improving maternal healthcare in Nigeria. Furthermore, the findings have the potential to inform policy changes, enhance healthcare delivery, and ultimately contribute to better maternal and child health outcomes in the region.
