Bowen University achieved a global placement of 501–600
Bowen University, Africa’s premier Baptist institution, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to excellence by securing a prestigious position in the inaugural edition of the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (ISR) 2025. Released on Thursday, November 21, 2024, the rankings recognize universities making significant contributions to interdisciplinary science research, a critical approach to addressing global challenges by integrating insights from multiple academic disciplines.
In this groundbreaking ranking, Bowen University achieved a global placement of 501–600 while earning accolades as:
- 3rd among private universities in Nigeria
- 11th among all universities in Nigeria, out of over 270 institutions in the country.
The 2025 inaugural Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings was conducted in collaboration with Schmidt Science Fellows and evaluated universities’ contributions and commitment to interdisciplinary science. This included 11 performance indicators across three key areas: inputs (funding); process (measures of success, facilities, administrative support, and promotion); and outputs (publications, research quality, and reputation).
Bowen University’s recognition in these rankings is a testament to its dedication to fostering a dynamic environment that encourages collaboration across disciplines, innovative research, and impactful solutions to societal challenges.
