Dr. Ibukun Mary AKANBI hails from Ilale in Oke-Ero LGA of Kwara State and obtained her primary and secondary education from Kwara State. She proceeded to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso where she obtained her MB;BS in 2009. She had her intership training at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin from 2009 – 2010. She had her NYSC service in Ilorin South clinics between 2010 and 2011. She worked as medical Officer of Health in some private hospitals in Ilorin between 2011 and 2013.
Her unique passion for Community health made her to enroll in residency training at the department of Community Medicine , Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso in 2013. She became a member of National Postgraduate College of Physician in 2015 and a Fellow of West Africa College of Physician (FWACP) in 2019. She obtained her Master in Public Health (MPH) in 2021 from University of Ilorin.
In February 2022, she secured employment with Bowen university as Lecturer 1. As a lecturer, she has actively participated in training medical students and supervising of research projects. She also coordinate urban block postings for medical students.
She had authored some articles and presented abstract in conference. She had served as a chairman of a committee in BUTH and members of committee in Bowen university and BUTH.
Dr. Ibukun Akanbi had attended several scientific conferences and seminars. She enjoyed reading and travelling.
