The Directorate of Academic Planning and Monitoring of Bowen University serves as a strategic unit dedicated to promoting academic excellence, quality assurance, and institutional effectiveness across the University. The Directorate plays a vital role in ensuring that academic programmes, policies, and operations align with the University’s mission of producing graduates who are intellectually sound, morally upright, and globally competitive.
Through data-driven planning and systematic monitoring, the Directorate supports the University’s commitment to innovation, accountability, and excellence in higher education. It also facilitates strategic decision-making by providing relevant academic statistics, reports, and evaluations that enhance operational efficiency and sustainable development within the University community.

Creating a conducive and dynamic teaching, learning and research environment that equips our graduates with Christ-like character, positive attitude and sterling leadership qualities.
Core Functions of DAPM
Policy Implementation and Regulatory Compliance:
Ensures the dissemination and full implementation of NUC policies, guidelines, and minimum academic standards across all academic programmes.
Academic Documentation and Institutional Reporting:
Oversees the preparation, periodic review, and publication of key academic documents (e.g., Academic Briefs) and produces statutory reports required by regulatory bodies.
Evaluation and Reporting of Teaching Effectiveness:
Conducts student evaluation of lecturers each semester, compiles reports on teaching performance, and communicates findings to Management for decision-making.
Examination Oversight and Academic Standards Enforcement
Monitors examination processes, ensures compliance with established regulations, and provides timely solutions to identified challenges.
Academic Programme Development and Accreditation:
Coordinates the establishment, review, and accreditation of academic programmes, including departments, faculties, colleges, and campuses, in line with approved procedures.
Data Management and University Statistics:
Coordinates the collection, collation, analysis, and dissemination of accurate University academic statistics for planning, decision-making, and regulatory submissions.
Teaching Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Monitors lecture delivery to ensure adherence to University policies and standards, and advises Management on strategies for improvement.
