Our primary mandate is to design, implement, and manage the University’s digital ecosystem, ensuring that every student, staff member, and department has access to efficient, secure, and cutting-edge IT resources that enhance teaching, learning, research, and administration.
Our Core Responsibilities
Digital Infrastructure & Network Management:
We manage and maintain the University’s ICT infrastructure, ensuring stable connectivity, reliable communication, and seamless access to online services across all campuses.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection:
DDS enforces robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard institutional data, protect user privacy, and ensure compliance with national and global information security standards.
Innovation & Digital Transformation:
Through research, training, and system integration, the Directorate promotes a culture of digital excellence and continuous improvement within the University.
Web & Portal Development:
The Directorate oversees the design, development, and maintenance of all Bowen University web platforms, including the official website, student and staff portals, and specialized systems for postgraduate, library, and chapel services.
User Support & Digital Services:
We provide technical support to the University community, ensuring efficient operation of IT systems, email services, and administrative applications.
Committees and Collaborations
The Directorate actively contributes to key University committees, including the Ranking Committee, Publicity Committee, Library Board, and Senate, providing technical expertise and strategic digital insight to enhance institutional visibility and performance.
