The Directorate of Student Support Services (DSSS) is a vital arm of Bowen University, dedicated to promoting the overall well-being, growth, and success of every student. At Bowen, we recognise that education extends beyond the classroom; it encompasses emotional, social, spiritual, and personal development. The DSS ensures that every student receives the support, guidance, and resources needed to thrive throughout their academic journey.
Our goal is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can discover their potential, overcome challenges, and prepare for meaningful service to God and humanity.

Core Functions of DRSP
Student Welfare and Support:
The DSSS oversees student welfare, ensuring that all students enjoy a safe, comfortable, and supportive campus environment.
This includes addressing student concerns, facilitating accommodation services, and coordinating welfare programs that enhance quality of life on campus.
Orientation and Transition Programs:
Each academic session begins with an orientation for new students, introducing them to Bowen University’s values, systems, and community.
This program helps students transition smoothly into university life and understand the standards of excellence expected at Bowen.
Disciplinary and Ethical Guidance:
The Directorate upholds the University’s code of conduct and promotes moral integrity consistent with Bowen’s Christian ethos.
We work to correct, guide, and restore students with love and fairness, ensuring that discipline contributes to character formation.
Guidance and Counselling Services:
The Directorate provides confidential counselling and advisory services to help students manage academic pressures, personal challenges, and emotional needs.
Our professional counsellors guide students toward making informed decisions about their studies, relationships, and future careers.
Student Development and Engagement:
DSSS encourages participation in extracurricular activities, leadership training, and volunteer opportunities.
Through student associations, clubs, and mentoring programs, we nurture skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership.
Health and Wellness Support:
In collaboration with the Bowen University Medical Centre, DSS promotes physical and mental health awareness through wellness campaigns, workshops, and preventive care initiatives.
