General Requirements for applying to study at Bowen:
- Applicants must have sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- Applicants are required to have credits at WAEC, GCE, or NECO, in at least five (5) subjects, which must include English and four other subjects as may be specified by each College.
- The five (5) credits should be obtained at not more than two sittings. (for Medicine and Surgery (MB; BS), Nursing Science and Physiotherapy programmes, the five credits must be obtained at only one sitting).
- Candidates awaiting results may apply.

please my daughter scored 235 in jamb and has a good WAEC result at 1 sitting. can she apply for medicine and surgery. also, I want to know if the admission is visible at all? thanks.

Last year, the minimum JAMB score for Medicine and Surgery was 250, while your daughter scored 235. This year’s official cut-off has not yet been determined.
Based on last year’s benchmark, her chances would have been very slim. However, until the new cut-off is released, nothing is certain. I recommend waiting for the university admission guidelines for this year.

With a JAMB score of 231, you are eligible to apply, but please note that the programme is highly subscribed and receives a large number of applicants each year. We strongly recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible. Bowen University must be selected as your first-choice institution before you can apply for admission.
