The 4th Substantive Registrar!
The Governing Council of Bowen University, at its 121st meeting held on Thursday, 19 February 2026, approved the appointment of Mr Eyitayo Oyeniyi Ojemola as the fourth substantive Registrar of the University.
His assumption of office marks a significant milestone in the institution’s administrative evolution and its continued commitment to godly leadership, governance excellence, and institutional integrity.

Mr Ojemola is a distinguished professional university administrator, governance and faith-driven institutional leader with over twenty-five (25) years of meritorious service across the public and private sectors, including seventeen (17) years of dedicated administrative leadership at Bowen.
Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy Registrar and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, where he provided strategic coordination across the University’s governance structures. His tenure in this role was characterised by diligence, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to institutional order and policy compliance.
Eyitayo earned a Master’s degree in Managerial Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and History from the University of Ilorin, as well as a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) awarded by Obafemi Awolowo University. His professional development is further strengthened by certifications in computer studies, leadership development, and theological training.
A Member of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) and a Certified Teacher under the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Eyitayo Ojemola’s career trajectory at Bowen reflects steady advancement through critical administrative portfolios in Council Affairs and General Administration, Human Resource and Development, Faculty Administration, Examinations and Records, and the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.
As Head of the Human Resource and Development Unit, he championed reforms that strengthened recruitment transparency and merit-based promotion processes. In Council Affairs, he introduced enhanced confidentiality protocols in the handling of sensitive governance documentation, reinforcing professionalism and safeguarding institutional integrity. Across these assignments, he consistently earned commendations and several honours from Council, Management, and successive Vice-Chancellors for administrative excellence and godly stewardship, including Council Commendation for exemplary conduct, Long Service recognition during Bowen University’s 20th Anniversary celebrations, and leadership awards for his transformative stewardship as President of the Bowen University Staff Cooperative Investment and Credit Society (BUSCICS), where he led historic improvements in liquidity reserves and championed the digital transformation of operations.
Beyond the University, Eyitayo serves the nation with disciplined responsibility as a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) in the Nigeria Police Supernumerary Unit. His broader community and church engagements span decades of Baptist leadership, discipleship training, youth development, and civic service, underscoring a life deeply rooted in Christian service.
As he assumes office today, Monday, 2 March 2026, Mr Ojemola brings to the role a wealth of institutional memory, governance expertise, and visionary leadership. He remains committed to strengthening administrative systems, deepening faith integration in governance, leveraging technology for operational efficiency, and sustaining Bowen’s mission of Godliness, Excellence, Leadership, and Service.
