- Senior Registrar Grade I/Principal Medical Officer
Candidate must possess the following Qualifications:- Part I Fellowship of the National Post-Graduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent, plus at least two (2) years cognate experience.
- Minimum of Ten(10) years post-registration cognate experience.
DUTIES
Responsible to the Director of University Health Services for: - Carrying out General Medical duties in the University hospital.
- Giving Health Education and Counseling.
- Taking Calls i.e., work outside normal working hours and during weekends.
- Conducting Medical registration for new Staff and new Students.
- Visiting and Counseling patients referred to other Hospitals.
- Supervising junior Doctors in the Department.
- Carrying out other responsibilities that the Director of University Health Services may assign.
- Practicing in the area of speciality in a teaching Hospital under the supervision of a Consultant (in the case of SR II)

Candidate must possess the following Qualifications:- Degree in Medicine registerable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) from Bowen University or any other recognized Institution, plus NYSC Discharge/ Exemption Certificate.
- Minimum of three (3) years post-registration cognate experience.
- Primaries result of a medical speciality in the case of a Registrar.
DUTIES - Performing the duties of a Medical Officer II at a higher level of responsibility.
- Practicing in the area of speciality in a Teaching Hospital under the supervision of a Consultant (in the case of Registrar).

- Additional qualification in Psychiatry, Ophthalmology, etc, plus NYSC Discharge/ Exemption Certificate.
DUTIES - Diagnosing and treating minor ailment.
- Setting up intravenous infusion, suturing of lacerations and wounds.

- Nursing Officer I
Candidate must possess the following Qualifications:- Possessing an NRN or SRN certificate plus Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Minimum of four (4) years post-qualification cognate experience.
- B.N.Sc plus membership of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- NYSC Discharge/ Exemption certificate.
DUTIES - Co-ordinating the activities of subordinates and supervising nurses and Students nurse in the ward.
- Assessing and setting nursing care priorities for individual and group of clients.
- Assessing health status, potentials, plans, implementing and evaluating Nursing care of individuals, families and community.
- Improving services to the clients by continually evaluating the effectiveness of nursing intervention and revising it accordingly.
- Taking responsibility for the process and outcome of the care given to clients.
- Liaising with the BUTH training school with respect to student nurses deployed for clinical experience.
- Ensuring availability and proper use of equipment and instruments.
- Supervising and ensuring proper record keeping.
- Organizing orientation courses for nurses and educating them on new trends in nursing practice.
- Liaising with other members of the health team.
- Appraising the performance of nurses in the ward.
- Assisting in research activities.
- Establishing and maintaining inventory for audit purposes.

- Nursing Officer II
Candidate must possess the following Qualifications:- Possessing an NRN or SRN certificate plus Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
DUTIES - Supervising junior staff.
- Collecting and distributing a database of physiological, emotional, sociological, cultural, psychological and spiritual needs from available resources.
- Identifying and documenting changes in health status which interfere with the client’s ability to meet his basic needs.
- Establishing nursing diagnosis based on client’s needs.
- Developing individual nursing care plans based upon nursing diagnosis.
- Identifying needs and establishing priorities for nursing.
- Carrying out individualized plans of care in conjunction with other Nursing staff.
- Monitoring and evaluating nursing care delivery within a speciality, i.e Midwifery, Public Health Nursing, Theatre Nursing.
- Identifying alternative methods of meeting clients’ needs, modifying Plans of care if necessary and documenting changes.

2. REMUNERATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Bowen University runs a unique remuneration package, similar to what is obtainable in other tertiary institutions. The University is a fully residential institution. Consequently, the staff of the University must reside either in Iwo or Ogbomoso, as the case may be.
